With imaging in the medical environment being of optimum importance to the quality
of diagnosis and therapy in modern endoscopy, Olympus has selected the following
monitors to meet clinicians’ imaging requirements:
Olympus OEV-181H Flat Panel Monitor
The new Olympus OEV-181H rewrites conventional wisdom on the capabilities of TFT
(or LCD) monitors. Flat-panel monitors have previously suffered significant
time lag in updating images on-screen, restricting their suitability for use in
surgery and endoscopy.

The new Olympus OEV-181H is a high definition television (HDTV) unit that, in addition
to having resolution of 1080 lines (compared to 625 conventionally) operates in
progressive scan – where the lines on screen are updated sequentially.
Combining the effect of this design change with the significant increase in resolution
means the performance of this screen has to be seen to be believed, especially when
used in combination with the HDTV compatible scopes from the EVIS LUCERA series.

Sony PVM-20L2MD – a high-resolution 20" CRT monitor, taking advantage
of Sony’s experience in medical imaging. This unit utilises specially-developed
color phosphors to ensure realistic reproduction of not only the texture of the
images, but also the subtle color variations that are so critical in diagnosis and
therapy. Designed in conformance with international medical equipment safety
standards. |
