EISA says, “The stainless steel Olympus TOUGH TG-810 is a water-, crush- and shockproof camera that is ideal for outdoor enthusiasts as well as for families. Although its rugged build is the principal feature of the camera, it also delivers good picture quality. With a 14-million-pixel sensor and a 5x zoom lens (28-140mm**), it is suitable for almost every situation.”
TIPA Awards 2011: Best Expert Compact Camera APR2011
The Olympus XZ-1 has one of the fastest zoom lenses in its class”, the TIPA jury commented. The super-bright, 4x wide i.ZUIKO DIGITAL 1:1.8-2.5 comes combined with a large 3-inch OLED viewing screen. Between the two is a serious upgrade to the camera’s 1/1.63-inch CCD sensor, where the light-reception area of each pixel has been doubled. This is a far more intelligent advance than simply continuing the race towards ever-higher megapixel stats – as the TIPA citation confirms. The jury also praised a low-light mode that automatically adjusts ISO sensitivity up to ISO 3200.
